STOP ACTION

I chose to do my stop action shot on my brother Dustin. My brother had been a skateboarder for quite a while now but he gets very shy around the cameras so i had to take well over a hundred shots and it was freezing cold but eventually him and his friend started goofing around and i got the natural amazing shot i was looking for.

My Shot #1

I Chose to crituque a few of my own personal favorite shots this weeks and I chose this one of my longtime girlfriend Nicole Marie Black. I took a shot of her with a daisy in her mouth and just for fun one day I started really altering it in photoshop and this was the end result and I am really proud of it because I think it turned out really cool.

News Shot

I chose this shot as my news shot because its just that...news! I was parked in a parking lot when I heard the sirens I ran to my car grabbed my camera cranked up the shutter speed and took off running to the street. I only had a few seconds to plan my shot I angled myself to get the least amount of distractions in the background and I shot like crazy and I got this shot and I really liked it you can see the driver and you can see the name of my hometown on the side of the ambulance.

Reflections

At first i just passed through this picture without a second thought then i stopped and went back and really looked at it and i noticed the car that is the main focus and the reflection on the ground is not actually the same car and i was astounded by the editing skills of the photographer it looks so natural i had to look a few times to make sure it wasn't just my imagination. I love photo shop and i respect all the work he or she put into this shot

Enviromental Critiques

My first PICTURE for this week is a mountainside with beautiful colors and wonderful fraiming but really drew me into this shot was the reflection. I have always loved reflection shots alot. ever since i have picked up photography i have debated so much with myself if i prefer nature or portait pictures. I feel more in control with people but surrendering to the natural beauty of the world is quite overwhelming like in this picture. I like the contrast from the clouds, the sky, the water and the field.

Enviromental Shot

EMILY JAYNE WRIGHT
This shot was quite a bit harder than the mug shot. The idea was easy enough to come up with but i must have went through a hundred shots to get a background that showed her interest but i think i really captured it in this shot. It took a lot of angles shots and different backgrounds to find the right one. In this shot i had to give my model a ton of direction and fight to keep her concentration and i feel that i succeeded. As for the technical aspects i had to work with limited light but i positioned her close to a window to limit harsh shadows then i turned up the contrast slightly in photo shop

Mug

EMILY JAYNE WRIGHT
This is Emily Wright, she is 17 years old senoir at lebanon high school. This shot was actually a full body shot but i really liked her facial expression so i cropped real tight to her face, changed it to black and white and photoshopped some shadows into the corners to add more contrast and draw more attention to her.
