Reflections

At first i just passed through this picture without a second thought then i stopped and went back and really looked at it and i noticed the car that is the main focus and the reflection on the ground is not actually the same car and i was astounded by the editing skills of the photographer it looks so natural i had to look a few times to make sure it wasn't just my imagination. I love photo shop and i respect all the work he or she put into this shot

Enviromental Critiques

My first PICTURE for this week is a mountainside with beautiful colors and wonderful fraiming but really drew me into this shot was the reflection. I have always loved reflection shots alot. ever since i have picked up photography i have debated so much with myself if i prefer nature or portait pictures. I feel more in control with people but surrendering to the natural beauty of the world is quite overwhelming like in this picture. I like the contrast from the clouds, the sky, the water and the field.

Enviromental Shot

EMILY JAYNE WRIGHT
This shot was quite a bit harder than the mug shot. The idea was easy enough to come up with but i must have went through a hundred shots to get a background that showed her interest but i think i really captured it in this shot. It took a lot of angles shots and different backgrounds to find the right one. In this shot i had to give my model a ton of direction and fight to keep her concentration and i feel that i succeeded. As for the technical aspects i had to work with limited light but i positioned her close to a window to limit harsh shadows then i turned up the contrast slightly in photo shop

Mug

EMILY JAYNE WRIGHT
This is Emily Wright, she is 17 years old senoir at lebanon high school. This shot was actually a full body shot but i really liked her facial expression so i cropped real tight to her face, changed it to black and white and photoshopped some shadows into the corners to add more contrast and draw more attention to her.

Childrens Greed

I chose this...PICTURE... because i really like it and admire how much direction this must have required by the photographer to get the childs hands perfectly around the sun. I really like how the background is really dark because it draws your attention right to the little girl and what she is douing.

kittyfish

I chose this PICTURE because it made me laugh. I am really interested in photoshop and i love looking for very odd pictures that people have photoshopped. I like how even thou this shot is so fake the transition between the cat and fish is really simple.

Pumpkin Patch

2 1/2 year old Mason Waite enjoys his second Halloween by picking the perfect pumpkin to carve with his grandmother Lavon Waite. This was Masons first year picking his own pumpkin at grandpas u-pick pumpkin patch in Scio. When asked what mason wanted to be for Halloween he told me "Last year I was a scary skeleton but this year I want to be something cool...like spider-man."

In this shot I learned I had to really talk with my subjects to get them comfortable and not scare the parents. I used a low ISO and a fill flash to not get shadows in the eyes. The lighting was very harsh so i had to darken the shot but i still got his eyes squinting a little

Old People Walking II

I really like this shot... http://www.flickr.com/photos/nikolat/3465532630/ ... because of all the contrast and not just in colors or lighting but in people as well because you have this business women in a power suit and a homeless man that looks like he hasn't bathed in quite a while. It tells such a story of rich vs poor, fortunate and not so lucky. I like how this photographer darkened the corners and increase the contrast to draw the focus to his or her main focal points
